***NEW theory about The Letter***
So I was thinking a lil bit about it this morning… (bcuz what ELSE would i be thinking about???) and I came up with a new theory pm what the letter is REALLY about and so i wanted to share it with the Company to see what yall think. Before you read it you’ve got to realize that I’m 100% Team Xander so obv this theory is going to say things that only make sense if your also TX, and don’t even BOTHER trying to argue that Xander didn’t write it… If you think that, there are plenty of other threads for you in TBland, so go read one of those! But here’s what I think Xander is really trying to say:
1. The letter is OBM’s music, especially Black Carousel, and the woman who wrote the letter is Xander. He feels like he is writing things from the heart but they’re not really reaching people, were not really hearing what he is saying. Like all the people who said BC was him selling out just bcuz it was on a major label and didn’t actually listen to the music or the words. Like it’s still Xander and yeah it’s different than the first two albums but it’s SUPPOSED to be.
2. The man who was supposed to get the letter represents the Company. We (obv) love Xander but he is not sure if he can really love us back or not, because we don’t put enough work into trying to figure out what he’s trying to say. Or maybe this is just about the FAKE fans, the ones who only like OBM because they think Xander’s hot or bcuz there trying to be cool, not the real fans like us who actually care about him!
3. The man who finds the letter represents the critics, who weren’t supposed to get the letter at all bcuz it wasn’t written for them, but end up falling in love with it anyway. EVen though it is “written in a language they don't know." Like how BC got really good reviews on all the websites but the fans didn’t like it as much. Xander’s obviously saying that he doesn’t care about what the critics think, he just want to make music for the fans, and he’s sad that we didn’t really get his last letter.
4. The prison camp is supposed to be the entertainment industry. He never wanted his music to end up there but it ended up there anyway by accident. It is lifeless and dead and cold but that’s where the letter went
SO BASICALLY the letter is all really about how we have been letting him down as fans. But he’s giving us another chance, writing us another letter, and we owe it to him to actually get this one and write him a reply. So when the new album finally comes we OWE it to him to listen to it the right way. He pours his heart and soul into this music and we can’t let his NEXT letter go unanswered.

Well, I think the main character is supposed to be Xander. He’s the one who FOUND the letter, not the one who wrote it. So the letter is like his inspiration or like the one little spot of goodness in the darkness of the world. The letter represents his love. Or his muse, idk. It’s the reason why he’s able to write the story at all. And the STORY (not the LETTER) is OBM’s music.

1. the REAL Xander (who obviously wrote the story IRL)
2. Aleksandr K (the author of the story The Letter)
3. The Letter-Finder (LF)
4. The Letter-Writer (LW)
Everyone’s saying 1 & 2 are the same or 2 & 3 are the same but what if they’re actually ALL different???

Alright so what I’m trying to say is…. we all agree that Xander IRL wrote the story. that’s what makes us TX. obviously. but some of you are saying he wants us to see him as the LW (what I’ll call Theory A, the theory at the beginning of this thread) and other people (like CxRxOxSxSx in this thread) want us to see him as the LF. That’s Theory B. But my theory is what if Xander wants us to see the AUTHOR character as being him. The STORY is his music not the letter!

It means Xander feels like he wrote a story that got lost for a long time and no one paid attention to it except for one person (him in the interview, irl the true fans) but then maybe someday it can become appreciated? like by future generations maybe?

bc what if aleksandr wrote the story on paper, and just SAID it was written on the walls of a prison camp to get people to read it, and really there was no prison camp except for in the story? so there are actually 5 people? i think?

Right, that’s like, the only thing everyone here everyone can agree on. What we’re trying to figure out is whether XANDER wrote the story or if XANDER-AS-ALEKSANDR did.

whoa holy crap you guys are deep. idk exactly what your talking about but i think if we keep working together we’ll figure out exactly what the letter means and make xander happy :) sometimes i wonder if he reads these threads and laughs when we’re wrong about everything lol
